Hello world!
I’m Guillermo, a research scientist. I studied Biology, specialising in molecular biology, and then completed an MSc in Bioinformatics. My first six months of real work were an internship at Vidium Solutions, a fully in silico startup in Lyon (France), where I learnt a lot from a multidisciplinary team of engineers, mathematicians and physicians. Back in Spain, between March 2023 and July 2025 I worked as a bioinformatics analyst and server and equipment administrator for the Genomics Unit at Fundación Parque Científico de Madrid.
Alongside that, in February 2024 I began my PhD at the Bioinformatics Unit of the CNIO (Spanish National Cancer Research Centre), analysing omics data from tumour samples to study heterogeneity and clonal evolution, with the mission of suggesting possible treatments in the context of personalised medicine. Along the way I have been lucky enough to meet researchers, technicians and companies in the biotech sector who are reshaping the omics landscape both in Spain and abroad.
