I joined the Bioinformatics Unit at the CNIO as a postdoctoral researcher. My background is in physics and systems biology, and I am particularly interested in using bioinformatics and computational approaches to better understand cancer biology.
I am originally from Venezuela, where I completed my BSc in Physics at Universidad de Los Andes. My interest in complex systems led me to join the Quantitative Life Sciences diploma programme at ICTP in Trieste, Italy. I later completed a master’s degree in Systems and Synthetic Biology at Université Paris-Saclay, where I worked on gene regulatory network inference.
In July 2022, I joined CIC bioGUNE through a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship to carry out my PhD in Dr. Arkaitz Carracedo’s lab, under the supervision of Dr. Isabel Mendizabal. My research focused on understanding the molecular consequences of PTEN dysregulation in prostate cancer by integrating multi-omics data.
Outside science, I enjoy working out and painting. I discovered my artistic side a couple of years ago and particularly enjoy painting animals.
